Starchy™ bioplastic idea was conceived in late 2021 and officially trading in March 2023 under PT Batavia Fokus Teknoplas in Indonesia, which later our company is renamed to Boemi Circular International. The name 'Boemi' is a sanskrit translation for 'Earth', as we have philosophy what earth has given to us will circulate back to earth. The name Starch derived from bio-based compound found in Cassava, potato, and other vegetable extractions and food waste, as we strive to make a positive impact by re-utilizing waste to make a simply better bioplastic.

Features

Our bioplastics are derived from waste produced by cassava and potato peels. We offer two types of bioplastic: water-soluble and water-resistant. Each type has a unique bio-based composition, making them either compostable (in the case of water-resistant bioplastics) or biodegradable (for water-soluble bioplastics).

Due to differences in adhesive properties and bio-based structures, plastics cannot be both biodegradable and compostable simultaneously. However, in partnership with National Innovation and Research Agency of Indonesia (Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional or 'BRIN'), we are diligently working in our lab to find the ideal balance in these compositions.

How's the Quality Control process?

We keep samples of each batch to ensure the same quality and characteristics for repeat bulk orders. All products are tested by an independent laboratory. Each batch is tested at the factory and sent to the laboratory for control.
